Emily grew up in Seattle and is a graduate of Whitman College (B.A. in Spanish and Politics) and Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.). After a pastoral residency in the missions department at BelPres in Bellevue, WA, Emily served as an associate pastor in Maumee, OH for four years. While in Ohio, Emily completed the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola and discovered there what a vital gift spiritual direction is. She finds great joy in listening deeply to people, praying, and beholding people’s hearts coming alive to God’s love in Christ Jesus through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. Since 2019, Emily has been affiliated with Renewal Ministries NW; in addition to spiritual direction, Emily serves as the Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Formation at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Shoreline, WA. Her interests include reading, cooking, running, writing, drinking tea, and being in nature. She is available via Zoom or in person.
