Krystel is a certified Spiritual Director through the Anglican Diocese of New England (Holy Conversations).
Krystel studied Sociology, Global and Urban Ministries and Biblical Studies at Seattle Pacific University, and earned her Masters in Cross-Cultural Studies, International Development and Children-at-Risk from Fuller Theological Seminary. Vocationally, Krystel has been in the global and justice non-profit and ministry space for about 20 years. She works full-time for a global non-profit that holistically empowers churches to care for and serve the most vulnerable. Krystel also has a background in racial reconciliation and equity, working to address root causes of systematic injustice.
Spiritual direction is an extension of Krystel’s calling. Krystel has learned throughout her life, the rootedness of pressing into spiritual disciplines, contemplative practices, and spiritual direction. She is passionate about journeying alongside others as a soul care companion to be attentive to the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in order to cultivate space for freedom, shalom, belonging, balance, and God’s truth. Krystel is shaped by the beauty and complexities of the upside down Kingdom of God, which she strives to embody in spiritual direction— elevating diverse and multicultural perspectives in helping people connect to a multi-faceted God.
Krystel loves traveling off the beaten path, hiking, spending time in and on the water, reading in hammocks, making music, gardening, gathering friends and strangers, and making people laugh. Krystel has called many places “home” around the world, but is currently rooted in her community with her husband Chitalu in South Seattle, WA.
Krystel is available remotely and can meet with you from anywhere in the world using Zoom.
