The Advent of Jesus
Hope Where Hope Fades
“… the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.”
During this Advent retreat, we’ll reflect on the promise that God is deeply at work in the places of our daily lives where hope fades.
We’ll dwell in the poignant lyrics of the familiar carol: “How silently, how silently / the wondrous gift is given!”
God intervened in human history not through a single, earth-shattering event but with a slow, mysterious path to redemption that started with a vulnerable human baby.
God’s ways remain mysterious to us today—though Advent gently reminds us that obscurity is where God is most active and real.
Jesus calls us into this sacred space to wait with hope and expectancy, for it is in “stillness” and “silent waiting” that we trust in the deep work of God.
