We are halfway through 2020, and so far this year all us have experienced much tumult and uncertainty. For some, the experience has been difficult and, for others, not as much. But we all have felt the impact. William Barclay once wrote, “In every storm that shakes in the human heart, there is peace with Christ.” Do you ever ask if it is possible for you to enjoy the peace of Christ always? What are you to do when your feel a downward pull spiritually? What does Jesus ask of you?
In Matthew’s account of Jesus’s life, chapter 8, we see Jesus in action. As we peer into this story, we hear what he said, and we see what he did when people were in distress. During this prayer retreat, we will ponder what he did and discover how Jesus can help you when your peace is disrupted. We will assist you in inviting Jesus into your story and into what concerns you, and to receive his peace anew.
