Waiting in the Dark with Hope
Waiting is not easy when we are in the darkness of uncertainty. As believers in Jesus, we are waiting for the kingdom of God to break into our world more fully. We are waiting for Jesus to fulfill his promise to return. We are waiting for Jesus to come and make all things new and wipe every tear from our eyes. In 2020, circumstances are challenging and uncertain, and Advent is the right season for us to be in this posture of staying awake—and not falling asleep—to the goodness of God. We want to stay alert for Christ’s glorious entrance into our dark night.
During this online prayer retreat, you will have opportunities to reflect on the quality of your waiting, to be immersed in Scriptures that model how to faithfully wait in the dark for Jesus’ coming, and to be renewed in expectant hope and peace.
